During WWII, over 10,000 fledgling cadet pilots learned to fly at the Eagle Field Army Air Forces Base. For ten grueling weeks, they trained on Ryan PT-22s, Vultee BT-13s, and Boeing PT-17s, learning the basics of combat flying. These training sessions, and the countless stories attached to them, are forever imbedded in the memories of thousands of WWII veterans. Many of these veterens of WWII are currently housed at the many veterans hospitals throughout the United States. Please do what you can to let them know you appreciate their part in their monumental efforts which set the course of world history that allows us to enjoy the challenges of life today.

For me, this page will be a labor of love as I search for those stories.

Please contact us if your mother, brother, father, sister or any of your family has had any contact with the men who earned their first set of wings at Eagle Field or the women who married them and/or built their aircraft.
